20 years later: What could have been avoided

On May 22 in Quebec City, Lieutenant-General Roméo Dallaire will give an exclusive talk as part of an event held at Université Laval’s new PEPS arena to commemorate the 20-year anniversary of the Rwandan genocide. Made possible thanks to the generous contribution of Université Laval, the Université Laval Foundation and La Capitale Financial Group, this event will be the only opportunity to hear Lieutenant-General Dallaire’s special message.

“In this talk I plan to share information that I have never revealed before in any of my earlier presentations,” Lieutenant-General Dallaire explains.

Excerpts from the 2007 film Shake Hands With The Devil will be shown and commented on. The audience will also hear stories shared by survivors of the genocide and there will be a musical performance by Rwandan group Umurage.

All proceeds from ticket sales will go to the Roméo Dallaire Foundation, which gives 100% of all donations it receives and all funds raised to young people.

The event will be held in the new PEPS arena at Université Laval at 6:30 p.m. on May 22.

Tickets are now on sale and can be booked by phone at (418) 656-3668 or online at Billetech. Tables for 10 people and VIP boxes for 6 to 12 people are also available.
